The meeting was called to order by President Tom Langenhop at the
Copies of the Treasurers Report were distributed and approved. The treasury report was for the last two months. Marty King pointed out that 2007 we lost about $600 for the year, the dues increase was justified. Jim Bowers mentioned that $300 of it was for the 501C status and shouldn’t be a repeat this year. Copies of the board meeting were handed out for everyone to review. A copy of the club mojo build project was handed out as well.
Field cleanup was announced for April 12th and April 26nd as a backup day. It was brought up to check and make sure April 12th didn’t conflict with the ever popular
New field status update. Denny said that it appeared at the last neighbors meeting like it would be at least 2009 until they were able to break ground on the new subdivision. He thought they intended to start in the south east corner of the site. He took a stab in the dark that we should have at least 1-3 more years at the current site. It was brought up the Denny Overholser, Thad Bessinger, and Jim Bowers were on the field committee. They were working on a business plan so we could either purchase or rent more ground when the time came.
It was brought up that the goal of the board was to start doing fundraisers to billed up the coffers for the future field needs.
It was a goal for the club to welcome all visitors and install new signs and flyers to promote the sport and club. At the suggestion of Marty King any new signs should be okayed with Kevin Bullard, Tom Langenhop agreed.
The current club website would remain under Marty Kings maintenance. He asked that the club give him the content to publish. He linked the site to Tom Langenhops picture bucket. He just recently updated the site and the club junkyard fly is up on the site.
The floor was opened up for additional nominations for the 1year Board member position. Jason Skinner was nominated for a choice on the board of directors. The election was held and Mike Kramer and Dave Gonyer were elected to the two 1 year Board member positions open.
Jason Skinner showed is electric flight box for charging. Thad Bessinger gave a presentation on how to glass a wing.
Meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Thad Bessinger, Secretary
