Minutes of June 14^th 2008 club meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Tom Langenhop at the flight field.

Copies of the Treasurers Report were distributed and approved. 

It was announced that the board felt we should have roughly 5 years before we have to move the club.  We need to develop an exit plan.  Keep your eyes open for a good location.  We need to allow ½ year to 1 year to develop the field and get it ready for flying.  We’d prefer to purchase a field, but due to the expense we may be forced to find a place to rent.  We want to keep both an option at this point.  We also need to keep Michigan, an option due to the fact ground is more reasonable up there.  We currently have members traveling from as far away as Wakarusa, and Goshen.

Harry handed out a list of the current hours everyone had accumulated to date.  This will let people know what they need to come up with by the end of the year to meet the requirements of volunteer status.  Please contact someone on the board if you need to get more hours and are unsure how to do so.  The mowing schedule is not necessarily full, if you need to meet hours that way.

It was announced that we intend to have a club fun fly on July 12^th.  We intend to bring the planes from this winters Junk yard wars to show and fly.

Tom L. took time to thank everyone for their hard work maintaining and mowing the field it looks great!

We intend to talk with Kevin Bullard about taking the chain to our field out and replacing it with a gate.  One of the club member damaged his car, because the chain wasn’t laying all the way on the ground.  Please try and make sure you lay the chain all the way down until we get this resolved.

Issues:  It was brought up by a member that everyone needs to keep the seat down in the out house after they are done.  Critters are crawling into the disposal area and you wouldn’t want a big surprise when you go to use it.

The next meeting will be a Saturday July 12^th  at noon at the field.  Bring something to show and tell and of course fly.
