Flightmasters of Elkhart County, Ltd.
Minutes of September 11th 2008 club meeting
The meeting was called to order by President Tom Langenhop at the flight field.
The meeting was started 20 minutes earlier than published due to rain. Thad Bessinger arrived 5 minutes prior to meeting scheduled start and it was almost ended. These notes represent the last 5 minutes of the meeting and what Tom L. recapped to me afterward.
Financial report was handed out and approved.
Tom L. reviewed last month’s minutes.
Tom L. reviewed two new possible field locations. One location was in Michigan roughly 11 miles away. There is also a possible field located in Wakarusa.
Tom L. stressed the importance that we follow all written safety requirements for the field with no exceptions. It is important for our liability that we all respect and adhere to the safety requirements. If you are not aware of them please ask. Harry Rombke to redistribute the safety rules to the members. It was brought up about not taxiing in the pits, are we following this rule. It was stressed heavily that we were following this and all rules with no exceptions. It was suggested that we paint out the pit boundary on past the steel/plastic flight line barriers. Thad B. volunteered to provide marking paint to the club.
The club brought up that they still would like to see the windsock installed across the field. Tom L. answered that we intend to do this, but a sock hasn’t been secured and the responsibility has yet to be delegated or assumed.
Thad B. brought the board meeting minutes and they were passed out. We reviewed them briefly. Tom L. addressed the issue of meeting the required working hours for every club member. We intend to have in place more duties that will be available to everyone to help you meet your hours. Some of these duties are listed in the board meeting minutes for your review. We intend to make everyone get their hour within reason.
Tim Linton was able to do the demonstration on adjusting 4-stroke valves. He brought in an engine and showed how to properly adjust the valves on it. The meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be a Saturday October 9th at 7pm at the Elkhart Airport. Bring something to show and tell.
Meeting was adjourned.
Thanks
Respectfully submitted
